AI scares me: where do I start?

You worry about your children, and sometimes about yourself: your job, your place, what you ought to learn. I offer parents what I do for their children: look at the situation squarely, and come out with an action plan.

Four questions that keep coming back

◆

Will my job disappear?

Rarely all at once. It is tasks that change. Knowing which ones, in your own work, changes the question entirely.

◆

Should I learn AI, and what exactly?

Not everything. What serves your work and your plans. A general course is reassuring; targeted learning saves time from the first week.

◆

Is it too late to change?

The tools are quick to learn when you start from your own work. What matters is the order in which you take them on.

◆

Where do I start, concretely?

With an honest inventory: what you do, what AI can already do, what it won't. The rest follows.

Fear comes from what we don't look at squarely.

AI doesn't hit everyone the same way. Within the same job, some tasks become faster and others gain value. Most people have never sorted this out for their own work.

Learning AI from your own job is much faster than a general course. That is what I did: as a teacher, I built with it the tools my students use today.

And what you learn also helps your children. A parent who understands AI guides their choices better.

I work with AI every day

I have taught mathematics for fourteen years, to more than 1,100 students, and I guide applications to the most selective universities.

I built with AI the tools my students use: Fields, for olympiad problems; Summit, for the SAT; Xiaomo, for Chinese. I won't talk to you about AI from a distance.

An action plan for you

01

We look at your situation

Your job, your actual tasks, your skills, your constraints, what you want. A questionnaire, then a conversation.

02

We sort things out

What AI changes in your work: what is exposed, what gains value, what it won't do.

03

I hand you the plan

A written document: what to learn, in what order, which tools to adopt, with which deadlines. Then a video call to go through it together.

04

We review it at three months

Optional: we check what has been put in place, and adjust.

The action plan is quoted after a first conversation.

And for your children

What future for our children with AI?

The same work exists for your child: their profile, their trajectory, what to do this year and in three years.
